Times, they are a’changin’. Ian found this article yesterday, prompting a conversation about the future of mp3 players. How do you plug your headphones into a dust mote’s worth of DNA strands? I imagine it’s hard to add a headphone jack to a molecule. Ian had some fresh ideas though: soak the headphones in a DNA solution or, even better, eardrops filled with music. Gives new meaning to the bass drop, I suppose. It’s a solid idea, possibly the future of music, but once the drop’s in your ear, how do you turn off the music? Wait for the DNA to wither and die? With the amount of music you can find on a single strand, chances are good that you’d be listening to music for the rest of your life. Hope you dropped a good beat.
